My Prime Travel Essentials
Happy Amazon Prime Day everyone! I’m at it again…adventuring across 6 countries in ten days…that makes 13 countries in the last two months! I’m starting to build up a list of my must-haves when traveling. Below are some of the items I’ve been using on my recent adventures…most of which have been hyperlinked to Amazon so you can enjoy them too! 😄
Carmex
When I was living in NYC and taking my first professional acting headshots ( a million years ago! 😜), my makeup artist told me that one of her best kept secrets and tricks of the trade was to finish lips with a touch of Carmex. I was told it would not only hydrate the lips but give them the perfect amount of shine in front of the camera. I have been a fan of the brand ever since, and I not only use it right before I take pictures, but I also dab some on every night before bed. When I am on those extra long flights to Barcelona, Hong Kong etc., I reapply as needed and my lips never dry out!
Charlotte Tilbury Face Mask
My skin tends to get extra dry while I travel, and I don’t always hydrate as much as I should when I’m busy exploring…so I have fallen in love with the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask. It can be used in the morning before I put on my makeup or in the evening before bed. My skin feels softer and more hydrated after each use, and every face mask can be popped back in its resealable pouch and used up to three times. This is a dry mask, meaning there’s no mess or clean up…so you better believe I always keep one of these in my makeup bag when traveling.
Sephora Foot Masks
Speaking of masks, I am a huge fan of Sephora Collection Foot Masks. In general, when I travel I’m on the move a lot and I can easily walk 10 miles or more a day adventuring…so at the end of the day my feet are always in need of a little TLC. These leave my feet feeling soft, comforted and refreshed. I use them whenever I need a little pampering at home, but they are an absolute must when I’m taking a trip.
Eye Mask
One more mask I always travel with is a black out eye mask for sleeping. I can sleep anywhere as long as my eyes are completely covered. These masks are nice and dark, so I always keep one in my carry-on, and I pack an extra one in my luggage just in case I need a back up!
Good Day Chocolate
Another tool I keep in my sleep support arsenal is Good Day Chocolate. They come in the cutest little travel carton, and when I’m traveling to Europe or Asia and I have to adjust my sleeping patterns quickly these do the trick. A little goes a long way, so even though they taste like a yummy chocolate treat, I only need one or two. I take the Sleep chocolate every night when I’m traveling, and I’ll take the Turmeric in the morning. If I feel like an extra pick-me-up, the Energy chocolates definitely get me going…and when I need to relax a little, the Calm are really soothing.
Nature Made Vitamins
I also take Nature Made gummies with me. Let’s be honest, I love that my vitamins taste like candy! I take the Multi for Her, the Hair Skin & Nail, and the Fish Oil…yes, there are fish oil gummies…and no, they don’t taste like fish! But when I travel, I add the Energy B12 and Good Sleep gummies to my bag just in case I need one last form of energy or sleep assistance…these do the trick!
Young Living Essential Oils
Quality sleep is so important to me. If I have a good night’s rest, I can conquer the world…but if I miss out on my shut-eye, I literally feel like a cranky toddler. So in addition to the above mentioned nighttime treats, I use a few drops of lavender essential oil on my feet, and sometimes my pillow. I love Young Living essential oils, and I’ve been using thieves, frankincense and lavender for years. Thieves and lavender always make my travel essentials list.
Vital Proteins
At home I am a smoothie junkie. I have a smoothie for breakfast EVERYDAY! And sometimes I have a smoothie for dinner too!
I have a scoop of Vital Proteins collagen in my smoothies no matter what kind of smoothie I’m making. When I’m traveling, a smoothie for breakfast isn’t always an option…but that’s why I love Vital Proteins. They have the perfect travel packs, so wherever I am I can just add their collagen to my water or a glass of juice. I can also add their mocha or vanilla collagen to my coffee or hot cocoa. My personal favorites, however, are the matcha and classic collagen. I can start my day with something that feels good and reminds me of home.
LonoLife Bone Broth
I always take LonoLife travel packs with me so my tummy can enjoy something familiar wherever I am. I just add hot water and stir for a yummy broth treat. If it’s a chilly morning or rainy evening, this warms me up and reminds me of the soup my mom would make for me on cold days. Fun fact, I also use LonoLife bone broth to flavor some of my favorite savory dishes.
Chomps Beef & Turkey Sticks
While I love trying new food wherever I go, I always like to keep something with me to snack on. My body thrives off of lean protein. If my energy is low and I get some good protein in me, it’s like the perfect second wind. I always travel with a handful of Chomps and they have been a lifesaver! My favorite flavor is original turkey, and Nate loves the original beef…he even puts them on his side of the pizza when we’re cooking at home. The ingredients are very clean, and they always fill me up, energize me, and never weight me down.
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo
One thing I have absolutely fallen in love with this year is Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo. Taking long international direct flights out of LAX can really do a number on my hair. Sometimes I land at 8 or 9 in the morning after a 12+ hour flight, and I’ll have to hit the ground running. Nothing works better for me than a quick spray. All I have to do is run my brush through my hair and I’m good to go. I use the original formula, but depending on your hair color there are multiple options.
Books!
And finally, I never travel without something to read. I love to read, and if I can’t be sitting down to read I’ll probably have an audiobook playing as I work. Reading provides me with some much-needed rest and relaxation. You can check out what I’m currently reading in this post!
So there you have it…my current travel essentials. But I’m always looking to add to the list. What’s something you can’t leave home without?
